Colour Trends for 2025

For many years, minimalism has dominated the interior design scene, with every new home boasting similar beiges and whites with marble countertops on every surface. Now, people are moving away from these minimalist trends and moving towards more pops of colours and patterns.

Here’s what’s trending for 2025.

Greens

Green isn’t just for your plants! More and more people are going with green furniture and cabinetry as a way to make a room feel more peaceful and inviting. Muted greens that pair well with neutral colours such as beige and white remain a popular choice for this year.

Patterns

Minimalism's “less is more” attitude often transferred to not just colours but patterns as well. Now that more people are moving away from plainer designs, patterns are back in! Be it decorative wallpaper, patterned furniture, or bold accent pieces, patterns have found their way back into the design zeitgeist.

Bold Blues

Blue has always been a popular colour choice in the home, but there is an uptick of people looking to go very bold with their blues. Blues can make a statement as an accent wall, but can also be an interesting furniture choice.

Deep Purples

Purple is another colour that’s trending this year. Purples can be more subtle than people think—a dark purple tone doesn’t always dominate a room, despite its bold nature. When decorated around and accented correctly, dark purples can create moody spaces that create a lot of depth.

Rich Browns

Rich, deep browns are becoming an increasingly popular choice in interior decorating. Brown is a versatile colour and can be used in accent pieces, wall colours, furniture, and more. The great thing about browns is varying shades can also work well with one another. Rich browns give a room an almost dreamy effect.

Black

Black has always been a popular colour choice for furniture and accent pieces, but you may soon start seeing it as a wall colour. When used sparingly, a black accent wall can be just the bold pop that a room needs. The rest of the home can be mindfully designed so that any black accent walls do not become overwhelming.

Warmth

Overall, regardless of what colours or patterns people are choosing to decorate with, a noticeable trend has been seeking out a sense of warmth. Warmth can be achieved in many ways, not just with warm colours. Bold tones in calm spaces can evoke a sense of warmth, as can colours that seem fairly neutral but are accented with warmer furniture or decoration choices.

The colours you choose to use in your house are a reflection of your personal style—it's important that you accentuate your home in a way that’s comfortable and stylish to you!
